Top tips for travelling this winter

As the weather gets colder in our little corner of the world, it’s getting warmer around the globe. If you’re hoping to spend winter somewhere nice and warm, here are some top tips to make sure you have the best possible experience:

Take travel insurance

Many people are aware that they should be purchasing travel insurance prior to taking their trip. In fact, it makes more sense to purchase it as soon as you begin booking flights and accommodation- so that these can be refunded if you can’t travel for a reason outside of your control.

But it’s most important to have travel insurance while you’re actually on the road. That’s because you never know when calamity will strike. Even if you haven’t had any problems while travelling in the past, it’s easy to break an ankle on cobblestones, leave your passport in a cafe, or get appendicitis while on the road. Travel insurance gives you the peace of mind you need since you’ll know that your insurer is only a phone call away if the worst happens. Compare travel insurance with Webjet before you travel overseas.

Consider cruising

If you love the idea of travelling, but you don’t have the time to plan and book your itinerary, cruising could be the perfect option for you. Cruising will allow you to get all the benefits of travel, while still relaxing while your ship is at sea. And since it’s almost entirely all-inclusive, you can budget a lot better for your trip as well.

There are plenty of Webjet cruise deals to choose from, and you can often get a great deal by purchasing well in advance, cruising in the off-season, or snagging a last-minute cruise when the cruise line needs to sell remaining cabins.

Slow it down

While it can be tempting to book as many different cities as you can, you’ll enjoy your trip a lot more if you give yourself enough time to actually explore those cities. A good rule of thumb is to allow at least a few days, and one full afternoon with nothing planned so you can be a little spontaneous while you’re travelling.

The worst parts of travelling are checking in and out of your hotel and actually flying from each destination, so if you want to have a relaxing holiday, reduce the number of times that you need to do both of these things.
